General Knowledge

• OS - different flavors of Unix (HP-UX, AIX, Solaris, Linux) and Windows + Legacy - familiar with Mainframe, AS400.
• Able to construct and lead customer workshops to gather technical specifications.
• Able to understand process flow documentation based upon ITIL.
• Able to architect solutions based upon functional and non-functional specifications.
• Set and manage customer expectations with regard to project timelines and solution features.
• Database - familiarity with and working knowledge of different database types (Sybase,Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, ect)
• Knowledge of Service Management processes and procedures including:
  
  • Incident Management
  • Problem Management
  • Knowledge Management
  • Change Management
  • Configuration Management
  • Request Management and Service Catalog
  • Notifications
  • Integrations with complimentary systems, such as monitoring, network management, and alert management.

Industry Experience

• 2-5 years+ of industry experience with OpenView/Peregrine/Mercury/ or other HP Software Products.
• Consulting or project experience with proposal, specification, design, implementation and support.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the day-to-day issues of administering corporate infrastructure.
• Strong programming skills a necessity: preferred languages Perl / VBScript / JavaScript / C#.
• Knowledgeable of Internet infrastructure, Client Server, and Cloud Computing.
• Strong desire to continue to increase technical knowledge.
• Strong English communication skills -- oral and written.
• College Degree in Computer Science or other engineering technology or equivalent.
